Our NELSON Electrical Engineering Department provides design services from conceptual engineering to detailed design as well as construction and startup assistance on a wide variety of projects and facilities. We also provide follow-on engineering services for our clients for many years after projects are in operation.
The experience base of our staff allows NELSON to handle a variety of projects requiring electrical power distribution, transmission, cogeneration, and power generation for both industrial and commercial systems. Some of the industries served on projects are oil and gas production/pipeline/drilling facilities, marine, utility transmission and distribution, chemical/refining, mining/minerals processing and commercial buildings.
The electrical engineering services provided to these industries includes power system analysis, power generation design, LV and MV distribution design, harmonic analysis, system reliability analysis and commissioning and start-up assistance. These services may be provided as part of a multi-disciplined complete project or independent/stand-alone studies/design. We incorporate advanced power system design and analysis software in our design capabilities.
The majority of our senior level engineers are licensed professional engineers in either Louisiana or Texas. We are also licensed to practice in a number of other states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Alaska, California, Mississippi, Wyoming, Colorado, Ohio and Florida. Our expertise in electrical design allows us to participate on many codes and standards committees, including NFPA 70, API RP 14F/14FZ and API RP 500/505.
